Welcome to Dundee

Welcome to Dundee…Top End that is, not Scotland.

Last weekend we went on our first camping trip in a very long time, encouraged by our daughter and son-in-law. Our last trip was something of an expedition for about five weeks to northern Western Australia (the Kimberley, Broome, Pilbara) and after that trek we were rather over the whole sleeping on the ground thing.

We recently bought some stretchers so we don’t have to put our ageing backs to the test and as this was just a quick overnight trip, it was a good way to ease back into the groove. I was surprised that we hadn’t lost our touch entirely.

We were very lucky to be able to camp on a large block right on the water’s edge, thanks to our son-in-law’s mate’s rates contacts.

Camping is a family affair. Ms Four loved every minute.

Everyone had a great time except for the dog who thought we were stranger-danger in the middle of the night. No amount of calling her was going to soothe her but she was a bit embarrassed the next morning.
